All of Us

Today is the day I understood that everything was my gift.  All experiences; good, bad, indifferent, were planted in my path so that I may stumble my way to Freedom.

Each sad day, every difficult choice and all the emotions that pierced my heart were reaching out to my soul, beckoning me Home.

While I see the gifts of the All, I go back and forth between worlds.  Still a part of what I knew while growing my awareness of my Freedom State.

Today, I say thank you to every One that seemed to break my heart.

Their pain was a mirror of mine so I could see what I was too afraid to look at.

What a beautiful gift you are to me.  What a beautiful gift you are to the world.

May all beings be free from sorrow.  May all beings find their way Home.  May All of Us know our Path is draped in Love.

Courage is Contagious

What can change teach us?

Look around.

What is the same?

From one instant to the next the world pulses its transformation through us more quickly than a mind can process.

Every cell, every atom moving with energy to appear solid and true.

Nothing is static.

All things in a perpetual state of becoming.

That is why attachment to the outer world can leave us feeling empty.

If we know for certain that tomorrow will be different from today, where do we anchor ourselves?

Where does a wandering heart find solace?

What is true?

What is Truth?

If we are able to look within and began to answer these questions, life becomes more stable.

It’s as if by accepting that everything is false we finally come to know once and for all, Love is the only Truth that matters.

With this knowledge tucked in our pockets, we are safe.

And, courage washes over us, through us and around us.

Courage is contagious.

Love Is Waiting

An ordinary encounter can save you if your heart is open to it.  The holiness of your heart will know its own safety reflected here.

Every heartbeat an opportunity to transcend the petty hurts and condemnations thrown upon ourselves and others.

If only you could know your beauty as I know it.  Your heart would wade into a shallow pool of wholeness where love is waiting.  This love would heal every broken dream, every crushing fear and every judgement you wear that strains your hurting heart.

All of this pain will lessen as you grown in love.

We can learn to walk side by side.  We will soon remember that our pain is separate from the truth of who-we-are.  With time, we will learn to love our pain for it lead us here.

To each other.

Where all is healed and love becomes the fabric and future of our memories.

Stop trying to heal your pain.

Let your pain heal you.

Love

Truth Sparkles

It is perfectly ok to polish the externals of your life until they shine.

Shiny things are pretty.

They also use their speckles of light to catch your attention and move you away from your Home.

Home is where all things are equal.

There is nothing to shine.

There is nothing to be.

There is nothing to do.

Truth sparkles on its own accord.

Soul Gardens

Each of us is given a small soul garden.  Our purpose is to nurture this parcel of emotional real-estate.  This is how its beauty is preserved and our spiritual wisdom grows.  This system works perfectly when we tend to only our garden and remember that the sun above is always there, loving us through triumph and tragedy.  When we forget about the sun, hardship ensues.  We feel lost and afraid so what do we do?  We start trying to tend to gardens other than the one right in front of us.  When this happens, we quickly pay a price.  Our little garden loses its luster and begins to wilt at the first signs of neglect.  The gardens beyond us in which we meddle and manipulate, begin to crumble away at the indignity.  If this continues, all the gardens of the world start to suffer.

The best we can do is remember the sun in all circumstances and continually remind ourselves to tend only to the soul garden we were given.

This is how love blooms.

The Water Underneath

In difficult relationships or situations, the trick of the tiny self is to analyze to the point of exhaustion.  Somehow, we falsely believe, if we could figure things out it will magically improve everything.  You might try new angles, new avenues and search for answers by asking someone you trust.  Maybe, just maybe, if we try a little bit more, a peaceful resolution will settle over us and we will ride off into the sunset happy with ourselves and the world.

It’s not true.

The only truth is to observe what hurts you the most and let it be.

This doesn’t mean you won’t eventually be inspired to act, but it stops you from looking outside yourself for the answers.

Let the frustration be.

Let the situation touch all your trigger points in your heart.

Let the person who befuddles you continue on their path.

Let it all unfold.

In my experience, once our analytical minds pause, the pain we have hidden from ourselves arises.

We have been taught pain is unacceptable.

It’s not true.

Pain is as welcome in our awareness as any other feeling, thought or emotion.

Pain just is.

Stop trying to change it, or diminish it.

Let it be.

Let it unfold.

What’s in the Way Is the Way

A World of Light

At the beginning of 2017, I started a daily yoga practice.  Often, during my time on the mat, various teachers and instructors have said, “Take what serves you and leave the rest.”  This is a guiding principle for all of life and recently, I have realized it is especially applicable to relationships.

We make relationships harder than they need to be.  If we are conscious, we can interact with another without making them responsible for how we feel.  We can allow them the space to be a full expression of who they are.  We can learn to judge less and observe more.

It’s never the person hurting us, it is our story about them that hurts us.

We must learn to ‘take what serves us’ in a relationship and let go of everything else.  If the relationship does not serve, then we have to let go of it completely.

Let them go with love.
