A Tiny Spark

There comes a time on the path to enlightenment where we might question the progress.

We wonder if this feeling of standing still means that we have lost the Way entirely.

There is no need for worry.

In stillness as in motion, we are always where we need to be.

It is only when we begin judging ourselves or the path, that our journey slows considerably.

This is the trick of self-preservation.  The small self would rather indulge in defining the path and deeming it less-than or more-than instead of flowing towards freedom.

When we allow ourselves to get lost in the flow, less-than and more-than things still appear to happen, but we remain suspended in peace as we let these experiences pass through our awareness untouched by judgment.

But, if we must qualify our Light-minding ways to Knowing, we can hold tight to this truth:

“A tiny spark of willingness is all that is needed to embody Peace.”

You have done more than you know.

You have done more than was needed.

Rest well, fellow traveler.  The path needs us not, as we are the path.

We are the Way.

We are the Light.

Now go set the world ablaze.

A mighty Flame 2

New Beginnings

What if today, if only for a moment, there was a total trust in life’s unfoldment?

Could you rest?

I cannot make any promises for you on life’s behalf.

Life knows better than we do.

Pain and loss often teach us more than laughter and joy.

Collect each experience, as best as you can, and place them in the basket of your soul.  The depth of these experiences will soon surpass your need for happiness.

For happiness is fleeting and leaves as quickly as it arrives.

Truth, the kind that holds our being together through the storms, can only find us when life is unexpected.

This is how we stretch and grow.

This is why endings sometimes hurt us.

All we have is this moment.

Best to leave the rest up to tomorrow.

As a personal self, I am very invested in the success of my words as they show up in the world.  This over-investment in outcomes weighs so heavily on me sometimes my pen becomes too heavy to lift to the paper.  This is when my fear wins and the words stay cloaked inside me and they do no good for anyone.

First things first, I have to honor my personal self’s investment in her writing success.  She was taught over and over in endless ways that what she does is more valuable than who she is.

I have to forgive her for that and then push her forward.  She has to push through rejection, countless unpaid projects and often deafening silence that greets her soul-baring essays.

There is a lot of noise in resistance.

Once I have pushed her through all of that we come to a place of purity where the words flow and heal the writer.

I do not know if she will ever let go of succeeding, but I never want that to impede the true purpose of her writing….

to heal herself.

If we only meet ourselves in the world, then any healing she finds in herself will lead all of us together further down the path of our Great Awakening.
